Red Room (plural Red Rooms)
1. According to an urban legend, a room where people are tortured and murdered for an audience of viewers via the Dark Web .
The fabled "Red Room" of the dark web to me is a cautionary tale about how everything has its dark underbelly and about the voyeuristic need inherent in us as humans. Much like people have searched for red rooms to fulfill a morbid curiosity, we have turned social media into a platform for us to watch other people's demons play out in front of us, from a safe distance of course. We have all become complicit viewers waiting to see what happens next...in the following series of shots, the red room is a metaphor for that urge we have to fulfill that curiosity every time we click login.
